    • An introductory course for students with little or no computer graphics background. Students will learn how various computer software and hardware components can be used to enhance creative expression. This course is specially designed for those students needing to develop their creative abilities using the computer. To enroll in this course, a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud may be required.
  • AR 240 – Digital Imagery
    • A course in digital photographic manipulation and design, intended for students who already possess a basic understanding of computer graphics. Students will learn how to acquire, manipulate, and enhance digital images using current technology.  Prerequisite: AR 140

Position Summary 

Develops, coordinates, and supports student activities at Columbia Greene Community College. Position Summary

The Student Success Center is seeking a part-time Success Coach to help provide academic and student development coaching, college transition services, and referral services to academic and non-academic support areas. The SSC Success Coach will manage a caseload of 20-30 students utilizing a case management approach to support academic success and retention. This position will work in close collaboration with students, faculty, and student support offices to help promote student success and assist with the development of success programming. The Student Success Coach reports directly to the Director of the Student Success Center.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meets regularly with a caseload of 20-30 students throughout the academic year to provide both academic and non-academic support and referrals, in-person and utilizing available campus technology.
  • Assesses student needs, determine appropriate support, and provide follow-up communication and support.
  • Provides general information about college programs, support services, and resources, and introduces students to critical deadlines, policies, and tools.
  • Provides digital literacy support to students, through individual sessions and workshops, contributing to the integration and use of technology for academic and career success.
  • Monitors and tracks student progress and collects notes on student meetings.

Columbia-Greene Community College is seeking a Director of Accounting for Auxiliary Services who will serve as the administrative and fiscal manager for the Foundation and Workforce New York and manage the accounting for the College Association as well as other grant funds and scholarships received by the College.  This position reports to the Vice President for Administration and Finance and the Director of Advancement Services. 

Duties and Responsibilities for Workforce New York  

  • Prepares and maintains computerized ledger, related journals, and support documentation for funds covered under the authority of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. 
  • Assists in the development, preparation, and implementation of budgets. 
  • Prepares various financial reports and schedules, including monthly reports to NYS Department of Labor. 
  • Manages cash requirements and requests cash from State and County sources. 
  • Prepares general ledger account analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries. 
  • Prepares participant support and vendor payments. 
  • Manages annual audit of NYSDOL funds covered under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. 

Duties and Responsibilities for the College 

  • Prepares and maintains computerized ledger, related journals, and support documentation for College grant funds.

  • Prepares checks received for deposit and records the transaction in the appropriate fund (i.e., unrestricted fund or specific restricted fund that includes endowments). 
  • Processes payments as required for monthly credit card statement, dues, subscriptions, and the like.  
  • Performs monthly reconciliations with bank accounts, investment accounts, and internal accounts to ensure the accuracy of transactions.  
  • Prepares and presents financial statements for the Foundation Board and Investment Committee Meetings. 
  • Provides necessary information for annual audit and serves as the Foundation liaison to the auditors.  
  • Collects, maintains, and reports data for annual taxes, including 1099s as appropriate. 
  • Assists with the timely preparation, submission, and recording of all acknowledgment letters and gift receipts. 
  • Provides support to the Director of Advancement Services with data entry into the Raiser’s Edge database according to established policies and procedures.  
  • Maintains communication with the Dean of Student Development regarding Emergency Need funding including the amounts available and the requirements of each grant and prepares a spreadsheet to keep track of annual spending. 
  • Collaborates with the Dean of Enrollment Management and Director of Financial Aid to manage scholarship awards. 
  • Stays current with new resources and technologies relevant to fundraising practices in general and prospect research in particular. 
  • Assists the President of the Foundation Board, Foundation Executive Director, Director of Advancement Services, and College President as needed. 

Qualifications  

  • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting with three to five years of accounting experience, preferably in an educational setting.   
  • Experience with computerized fiscal systems, QuickBooks, and MS Office Suite. 
  • Knowledge of Oracle Database systems, Banner programs/applications a plus.  
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising platforms. 
  • Position requires excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures, and knowledge of governmental accounting standards is preferred.  
  • The candidate must have strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.  
  • Collaborative team member and systems thinker with an elevated level of organization, highly skilled in the use of donor information systems.

Reporting to the College President and the Foundation Board, the Executive Director of the Columbia-Greene Community College Foundation is the chief development officer responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive and integrated fundraising program compatible with the College’s Strategic Plan. The Executive Director constructs the strategy for and leads the execution of fundraising campaigns, events, and stewardship activities that create meaningful connections and build donor relationships to secure, retain, and grow annual support.  

Located in New York’s Hudson River Valley, Columbia-Greene sits in one of the Northeast’s most scenic and historic areas 30 miles south of Albany and 110 miles north of New York City. Classified as a “rural” institution, the College serves two Counties – Columbia and Greene – covering a geographic area the size of Rhode Island. The nearby towns of Catskill and Hudson flourish with the arts, great restaurants, eclectic shops, and recreational resources.  

Columbia-Greene enrolls approximately 1,500 full- and part-time students and boasts about its learning and working environment often referred to as “a family”. Moreover, WalletHub recently ranked Columbia-Greene as the top community college in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. Nearly one-third of the College’s budget comes from the two County sponsors, but a long-term decline in state support, combined with changing demographics, necessitate careful fiscal management.          

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Prepares and implements an annual and multi-year operating plan for the Foundation including goals and other metrics in accordance with the College’s strategic plan. 
  • Prepares and manages the Foundation’s operating budget and assets under the guidance of the Foundation Board. 
  • Prepares Foundation Board meeting agendas in consultation with Board leadership and supports the work of the Foundation Committees.  
  • Provides monthly and quarterly reports on Foundation activities including fundraising progress and prospect management planning. Measures fundraising progress against benchmarks and makes program adjustments regularly. 
  • Assists in recruiting key volunteers and Foundation Board members. 
  • Develops, manages, and implements strategies for the Foundation’s annual giving campaign. 
  • Cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of high-potential annual giving prospects and forges strong relationships to influence and maximize contributions.  
  • Plans Foundation special events, including goals, budget, sponsorship levels, acquisition, and promotion. Hires appropriate personnel to oversee logistics and day-to-day details. 
  • Coordinates with the Scholarship Committee and the Office of Student Financial Assistance to ensure accurate and timely awarding of scholarships.  
  • Develops and leads stewardship plan for donor recognition, including timely outreach, mailings, calls, and events related to acknowledgement beyond the expected tax letter. Engages Foundation staff, College leadership, and volunteers as appropriate.  
  • Builds and manages the Foundation’s budget for annual giving and events to maximize return on investment. 
  • Collaborates with the President and campus administrators to assess and prepare a list of needs and opportunities for fundraising support.  
  • Manages all aspects of alumni giving, including cultivating, and soliciting alumni as appropriate and identifying and coordinating engagement opportunities with the College.  
  • Collaborates with the Director of Marketing and Communication to develop materials for fundraising and engagement across a variety of platforms including print, digital, and social media channels. 
  • Supervises activities and evaluates performance of Foundation staff.   
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned to support the Foundation and the College.  

Required Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in business, communications, marketing, philanthropy, or related field.  
  • Five years of fundraising experience, preferably in higher education philanthropy. 
  • Grant writing experience preferred. 
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Ability to interact professionally and tactfully with diverse groups of people with different levels of education, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences.  
  • Exemplary communicator with professional-level writing skills and an eye for detail.   
  • Advanced word processing skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred) and experience with fundraising software, preferably Raiser’s Edge.     
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed and travel to off-campus events.

Position Summary

The full-time Director will manage the day-to-day operations of the Student Success Center and facilitate a supportive environment by leading Columbia-Greene’s academic support services including the CARES Team, success coaching, testing services, tutoring, and the early alert program. The College seeks an individual who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, and student-centered learning community and foster a culture of student access and success, retention, and completion. Reporting to the Dean of Student Development, the ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to design and implement engaging opportunities for a diverse student demographic.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops academic programming and initiatives aimed at bolstering students’ comprehension of classroom material, as well as preparation for examinations crucial to professional advancement (e.g., NCLEX).
  • Leads the tutoring services program which includes professional tutors, peer tutors, recitation opportunities, and success coaching, and trains staff to best support students’ diverse learning needs.
  • Manages the College’s virtual Student Success Center.
  • Provides oversight to Laptop Loaner Program and Calculator Loaner Program.
  • Responsible for training, managing workload, providing performance feedback, scheduling, and related duties for part-time and full-time staff members.
  • Manages and processes data collection and reporting related to student support programs and initiatives to enhance assessment efforts.
  • Liaises with colleagues (e.g., Accessibility Services, Advising, Career Services, Faculty, Financial Aid) to support students’ academic progression.
  • Manages CARES Team and facilitates supportive measures for students at risk of academic progression.
  • Provides student success coaching to students and makes referrals to appropriate resources for additional support as needed.
  • Deploys, collects, and tabulates results from new student intake surveys.
  • Trains faculty on supporting students who are struggling academically.
  • Manages the Student Success Center’s appointment booking and tracking system.
  • Coordinates testing efforts (e.g., entry exams, challenge exams, make-up testing).
  • Assists with co-curricular programming, such as New Student Orientation and Resource Fairs.
  • Manages budget for the Student Success
  • Working with the Dean of Student Development, serves as a primary contact for the College’s Emergency Needs Program.
  • Serves on College-wide committees as appropriate.

  • Master’s degree with three to five years of experience in higher education administration, college student services, student success, or related field.
